I believe that understanding the person behind the business is important, so I'd like to share a little about my journey and the experiences that have shaped who I am today.

As a young adult, I had no idea where life would take me. After graduating from high school, I wasn't quite ready to commit to a four-year college, so I started at a community college instead. I took general education courses and explored a variety of subjects, hoping to discover what truly interested me and where I wanted my future to lead.

Like many people, my career path unfolded in ways I never expected. Through my college's work-study program, I was offered a position that included some bookkeepingresponsibilities. What started as a simple job quickly became something much more. I found that I genuinely enjoyed the work, and it sparked an interest that would shape my career for years to come. 

Inspired by this new direction, I began taking bookkeeping classes to build my skills and knowledge. Unfortunately, unforeseen circumstances prevented me from completing my education at that time. Although it was a disappointing setback, it didn't diminish my interest in the accounting field.

Not long after, I found work through an accounting temporary agency, which led to an opportunity with a large utility company. I worked in a department focused on fixed assets, project accounting, and task management. What began as a temporary assignment turned into a long-term opportunity. After three years as a contractor, the company hired me directly, and I continued working there for another five years. Those eight years provided invaluable experience and helped me develop both professionally and personally.

Eventually, I had to leave my position because of a serious illness. The challenges that followed forced me to step away from my career for a period of time, something I never anticipated. While the journey has not always been easy, it has strengthened my resilience and determination.

Today, I am focused on rebuilding and continuing the career that I have always enjoyed. I have returned to my studies through refresher courses and professional development programs, and I am currently working toward becoming a Certified Public Bookkeeper. So far, I have completed 1.2 CEUs and earned certificates in both Bookkeeping and Accounts Payable.

Looking back, my journey has not been a straight path, but every experience has taught me something valuable. I am excited about this new chapter and committed to continuing my education, expanding my skills, and building a successful future in the accounting profession.
